Ceramicspeed BB90 SRAM GXP Alternative Bottom Bracket

Trek developed its own bb standard to optimize its frame designs.
BB90 has a 90.5mm shell width and 37mm inner diameter and is designed so that the bearings of external cups can hide within the frame.

The CeramicSpeed kit comes with two bearings, which are then pressed into the frame. Those two bearings consist of either CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings. Both feature super smooth, super round CeramicSpeed balls rotating in hardened-steel races.

The Coated version has a metallic coating laid onto the races, making it even smoother and harder, resulting in longer life and lower drag.

The BB90 standard is limited to Trek. This kit makes it possible for 24/22mm thru-axle cranks from Quarq and SRAM to mate with your Trek.

Standard Bearings last at least 3 times longer than other bearings. That’s a result of hardened-steel races and ceramic balls that are 100% smoother & 15% harder than the ceramic competition. These bearings have a frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set, which boasts an average 75% drag reduction compared to stock bbs.

The Coated Bearings increase bearing life by 60% and reduce drag by 50% compared to Standard Bearings.

To better modify the performance for your needs, consider the grease you’re using. All Round Grease comes installed but can be changed for lower drag Race Day Grease, or higher durability Long Life Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in when riding through messy conditions.
